Andal Jayanti marks the birth of Andal (Godadevi), the only female Alvar saint. She is revered as an incarnation of Bhudevi and is known for the Tiruppavai and Nachiyar Tirumozhi.

According to the Divya Suri Charitam and tradition, Andal was found as a baby under a tulsi plant by Periyalvar in Srivilliputhur. She grew up with intense love for Ranganatha (Vishnu) and merged with him at Srirangam. Her Tiruppavai is sung during Margazhi (Dhanur month).
